NEW YORK (AlertNet) - Irungu Houghton oversees pan-African issues for Oxfam, the international development organisation.
He spoke with AlertNet at a rally against poverty at Lincoln Center in New York ahead of the Millennium Goals Summit at the United Nations.
About 140 heads of state will attend the three-day meeting, which is focused on figuring out how to deliver eight goals set in 2000 intended to eradicate poverty, hunger and disease by 2015.
