Regional Change Manager – Latin America and the Caribbean
Based Primarily in Mexico, but also working across Latin America.
£40,000 - £65,000 per annum gross salary pro rata
6–8 month project beginning February/March 2012.
The position is available either as a fixed term Oxfam GB employment contract or consultancy agreement, with the project open to both individual applicants and consultancies.
The work Oxfam does in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) is vital to overcoming poverty in the region. Our focus is on development and building better lives for people in the area. And it’s to this end that Oxfam is rolling out a Single Management Structure (SMS), taking a more coherent, efficient and effective approach to our work not only in the LAC region, but across the International Oxfam Confederation and in each country in which we operate. In this hugely important role, you’ll be a driving force behind it.
The role
The role offers a unique challenge to lead a project to integrate a number of Oxfam affiliates to act under a ‘One Oxfam’ SMS model, within the LAC Region. It will demand an innovative approach, as the central objective is to manage an organisational change which retains the independence of the current Oxfam affiliates, in a model that will create unified working relationships between the affiliates in each Country and across the Region. Reporting to the Regional Human Resources Manager, you will be required to design, develop and execute an approach that will embed the change process across the region. This means working with the most senior members of the Regional Management Team and Country Directors to implement a new working culture for the Region with the direct impact of making Country and Regional Strategies successful.
What we’re looking for
Coming from a background in Change Management, you’ll bring seasoned knowledge and understanding of how to make change happen. Particularly where it focuses on a cultural change and team building, within senior leadership teams, in a complex international setting. You’ll utilise your strong consulting and project management skills to strengthen the link between International NGO strategy and the operational working relationships of independent leaders in a unified team. With excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills you will be confident in consulting and influencing Spanish speaking senior leadership. Fundamentally, you will have a ´can do´ attitude, being tenacious and resourceful to ensure project objectives are met.
About Oxfam
A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not just their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
