CAFOD, on behalf of Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), is seeking a Head of Finance for the NCA Darfur Programme.

The Head of Finance maintains and develops financial management for the NCA Darfur programme. You will provide sound financial advice to the senior management team and the local partners. The post holder also ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements as relating to NCA routines and guidelines, donor requirements and national law and regulations. We are looking for someone with a degree in accounting or similar discipline together with proven ability to manage the finance function in an NGO or international organisation, ideally overseas, incorporating accounting, budgeting, etc.

The successful candidate will have an ability to communicate with actors at all financial competence levels in the programme and donor networks. Knowledge of Navision Attain (financial management system) is an essential component of the job as is a good understanding and experience of accounting in complex funding structures. The successful candidate will further have good interpersonal skills and a team oriented attitude. We are looking for someone with excellent knowledge of MS Excel and Word, experience of working with modern financial systems, a high degree of initiative, motivation and flexible attitude and an aptitude for financial tasks and attention to detail.

Applicants will need to demonstrate good training, capacity building and management skills. It is essential that candidates also demonstrate an ability to work under pressure and in a stressful environment with an ability to work independently and with self-confidence. An ability to interpret and apply rules to complex transactions is also essential. Excellent knowledge of oral and written English is essential.
