Save the Children's Hunger Reduction and Livelihoods Team aims to reduce hunger and malnutrition among young children through innovative programming in developing countries, supported by advocacy and policy change at national and international level. In this important post, the Hunger and Livelihoods Team Coordinator will play a key role supporting the Hunger and Livelihoods Team to implemetn the global Hunger Reduction and Livelihoods Strategy.

 

The Hunger and Livelihoods Team Coordinator role is an essential part of the Hunger and Livelihoods Team, and provides several vital functions that enables effective and smooth running of the team. The job is split into several parts. The Coordiantor manages the team budget, and ensures effective grant management. The Coordinator also manages all of the HR for the Hunger and Livelihoods Team, including sick and holidya leave, as well as recruiting new members of staff. There is also a communications component to the role; for example, the coordinator produces a quarterly hunger update newsletter for hunger reduction staff globally, and manages reprot dissemination and contact lists for the team. Additionally to these duties, there is administrative support, such as support with flights and visas, and team meeting and event organizing. The role also provides the post-holder with the potential to learn about Save the CHildren's approaches to our hunger and livelihoods work.

 

You will have significant experience of working with finance and budgets, as well as grant management skills. You will feel confident developing administrative systems and solving problems creatively. You will have good written and verbal communciations skills and be able to deal professionally with a wide range of contacts. You will have excellent organizational skills, abel to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines, with the adaptability to support a busy team in a reactive, varied and demanding work environment. You will be able to demonstrate how you have actively contributed towards team working and cross-organizational initiatives. You will also hav experience of organizing events, and a high level of computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications.

 

With an interest in international development, and a strong background in administration, grant managemetn and finance, you will want to help Save the Children make a difference in children's lives by reducing hunger and malnutrition.
