The total salary package for this position is £32,421 - £35,282* per annum (circa $51,100 - $55,600* USD) including basic salary, per diem and hardship allowance.
Since starting in 1998, MAG's programme in South Sudan has grown rapidly into one of our largest programmes globally. MAG South Sudan is undertaking a wide range of mine action initiatives and currently has humanitarian mine action projects operating in Greater Equatoria and Jongeli.
The Vehicle Fleet Manager, reporting to MAG’s Project Manager - Support Services for Southern Sudan, will focus on ensuring that MAG’s vehicle fleet is well managed and maintained and best able to support operations in the field. The post holder will be required to regularly travel to project locations throughout Southern Sudan.
Responsible for a Deputy Vehicle Fleet Mechanic, and a team of locally recruited staff, the postholder will need to be able to lead a team to deliver effective and timely maintenance, servicing and repairs to MAG vehicles, including Landrovers and Land cruisers, and maintain and enforce robust vehicle fleet management policies and procedures. The postholder will also take responsibility for training national staff in order to strengthen their capacity. Understanding the context of South Sudan and vehicle maintenance within that context is essential to be effective in this role. The logistics of procuring parts outside of South Sudan to bring into the country, and maintaining monitoring systems will also be important aspects of the role.
A background in fleet management is essential, as is the ability to supervise and develop others. In addition the successful candidate will have experience of the context of working in Africa and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

- Leave: We recognise our staff work hard and need the appropriate time out to stay motivated. For a six month contract length, you would enjoy three weeks of annual leave and an additional one week "Breather Break". For a five month contract, the annual leave time would be slightly shorter.
- Flights: MAG will provide one international flight home for leave during the contract, plus an additional regional flight for the Breather Break.
