Sept 16 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 1115 GMT on Friday.

* KABUL - Afghan security forces and foreign troops killed 23 insurgents and wounded seven in separate offensives in five different provinces on Friday, the Interior Ministry said in a statement. Eight militants were arrested, it said.

GHAZNI - Five policemen were killed when insurgents in Qarabagh district of eastern Ghazni province attacked their vehicle on Thursday, provincial police chief Delawar Zahid said.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack and said they destroyed the vehicle and took weapons and police equipment. (Compiled by Kabul newsroom)
