July 5 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq as of 1900 GMT on Tuesday.

* HAWIJA - Gunmen in a speeding car, using silenced weapons, attacked a security checkpoint manned by the government-backed Sunni Sahwa militia, killing three militia members, near the town of Hawija, 210 km (130 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.
* TAJI - Two bomb blasts in the parking lot of a municipal government building killed at least 28 people and wounded 58 others in the town of Taji, 20 km (12 miles) north of Baghdad, a deputy health minister said. An interior ministry source put the death toll at 35.
BAGHDAD - A Katyusha rocket that landed near the Rasheed Hotel on the edge of Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone late on Monday killed five people, including three women and two children, and set ablaze 25 caravans, the Baghdad security spokesman's office said.
Security sources initially had said the toll was three dead and eight wounded.
RASHAD - Gunmen in a speeding car killed a man near his house in the town of Rashad, near Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.
HASWA - Two roadside bombs planted in front of a policeman's house blew up late on Monday in Haswa, 50 km (30 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.
The first caused no casualties but the second exploded when police arrived at the scene to investigate, killing the home's owner and wounding two other policemen, police said.
MUSSAYAB - Gunmen shot dead a policeman near his house late on Monday in the town of Mussayab, about 60 km (40 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.
JURF AL-SAKHAR - A bomb planted inside a water pump at a farm belonging to a government-backed Sunni Sahwa militia member wounded him when it exploded late on Monday in Jurf al-Sakhar, 60 km (40 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.
