June 16 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq as of 1645 GMT on Thursday.
KIRKUK - A dead body showing signs of torture and gunshot wounds was found in the southern part of the city of Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, local police said.
MOSUL - Gunmen shot dead a porter in a vegetable market in western Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, a local police source said.
MOSUL - Gunmen shot dead a civilian who was standing in front of his home in eastern Mosul, a local police source said.
HILLA - Gunmen armed with machine guns stormed the house of an Iraqi contractor killing him and his Indian maid and his Turkish engineer guest in central Hilla, 100 km (62 miles) south of Baghdad, a local police source said.
BAGHDAD - Gunmen using silenced weapons shot and seriously wounded an Iraqi policeman in Baghdad's northern district of Shaab, an interior ministry source said. (Compiled by Baghdad newsroom)
