June 9 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Pakistan at 1213 GMT on Thursday:

MIRANSHAH - Around 150 militants armed with rockets attacked a security checkpost in Pakistan's Waziristan, killing eight soldiers, intelligence officials said. Twelve militants were killed in retaliatory fire by security forces.
PESHAWAR - A bomb went off in a market near the northwestern city of Peshawar, killing four people and wounding three, said hospital officials. The explosive was planted in garbage on a roadside, police said.
* MASTUNG - A roadside bomb struck a vehicle carrying paramilitary troops in the southwestern Baluchistan province, killing two soldiers and wounding three, a local government said.
DIR - A roadside bomb hit a vehicle in the northwestern town of Dir, killing one person, police said.
