AMSTERDAM, Nov 22 (Reuters) - International Criminal Court prosecutors will meet Libyan officials in Tripoli on Tuesday to discuss plans to put ousted leader Muammar Gaddafi's son and former spy chief on trial for crimes against humanity.

The Hague-based war crimes court issued arrest warrants in June for Muammar Gaddafi, his son Saif al-Islam and spy chief Abdullah al-Senussi. Muammar Gaddafi died in custody last month after being captured alive by Libya's new authorities.

Saif al-Islam Gaddafi and Senussi were captured in recent days, and the new Libyan leaders say they want to try them in Libya.

ICC chief prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo and deputy prosecutor Fatou Bensouda arrived in Tripoli on Tuesday morning to discuss the arrests.

"Saif al-Islam Gaddafi and Abdullah al-Senussi must face justice. Their arrest is a crucial step in bringing to justice those most responsible for crimes committed in Libya," Moreno-Ocampo said in a statement.

"I will talk to the national authorities and seek information about proposed national proceedings in order to assist us in analysing the admissibility of the case against Saif Gaddafi and Abdullah al-Senussi and to understand their plans moving ahead."
