* Petrobras has spill at terminal in southern Brazil
* Company did not state size of oil leak
RIO DE JANEIRO, Jan 26 (Reuters) - Brazil's state-controlled oil company, Petrobras, suffered an oil spill at an offshore terminal in Brazil's far south, the Rio de Janeiro-based company's shipping unit said in a statement.
The spill occurred at an oil unloading buoy in the Atlantic Ocean offshore of the city of Tramandai in Brazil's Rio Grande do Sul state, shipping unit Transpetro said in an e-mailed statement.
Petrobras said it is impossible to quantify the amount of oil spilled.
Local maritime officials have been informed of the leak and Petrobras environmental response units were called to contain and control any damage, Transpetro said.
The terminal supplies oil to Petrobras' Alberto Pasqualini refinery in Canoas, Brazil. (Reporting By Jeb Blount; editing by Andre Grenon)
