Oct 7(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq as of 1230 GMT on Friday.
BAGHDAD - Gunmen in a speeding car using silenced weapons shot dead a traffic police lieutenant and wounded a policeman in Baghdad's western Ghazaliya district, police and hospital sources said.
BAGHDAD - Gunmen in a speeding car using silenced weapons shot dead a police lieutenant in his car in Baghdad's southwestern Amil district, an Interior Ministry source said.
BAGHDAD - Gunmen using silenced weapons shot dead a civilian at his house in Baghdad's western Amiriya district, an Interior Ministry source said.
BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb went off after a sticky bomb exploded in a car, killing five people and wounding 21 others in Baghdad's west-central Utaifiya district on Thursday, the ministry source said.
BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb went off near a football field, wounding six boys in Baghdad's southeastern Zaafaraniya district on Thursday, the ministry source said.
MOSUL - Iraqi army troops opened fire and killed a suspected militant when he tried to run away from a checkpoint in western Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad on Thursday, a local police source said.
