"Terrorist" explosion targets Damascus district-TV

AMMAN, Jan 6 (Reuters) - An explosion by terrorists targeted the central Maidan district of Damascus on Friday, Syrian state television said.
The television did not give details. A resident of the conservative district, where protests against President Bashar al-Assad have been expanding, said ambulances were seen in the area. (Reporting by Khaled Yacoub Oweis, Amman newsroom)
