Thai army says reinforcing troops at Cambodian border

BANGKOK, April 28 (Reuters) - Thailand has reinforced troops at a disputed area on its border with Cambodia after clashes, involving heavy artillery, for a seventh day on Thursday near two 12th-century Hindu temples, the Thai army spokesman said.
The reinforcement followed a night of shelling in the area that killed a Thai soldier and wounded seven others.
"We are putting more troops in the area preventively because there has been tension for several days now," said Colonel Prawit Hukaew, regional army spokesman.
"But we remain firm that we will not attack first."
Each side has blamed the other for starting each round of fighting. At least 15 people have been killed and more than 50,000 evacuated from their homes during the fighting. (Reporting by Ambika Ahuja; Editing by Alan Raybould)
