SAN DIEGO, Aug 9 (Reuters) - A child-abduction alert in the multi-state search for two missing California siblings was extended to Idaho on Friday as CNN reported that a car matching the description of a vehicle sought in the case turned up in Cascade, Idaho.
The Amber Alert in Idaho followed similar notices issued this week in California, Oregon, Washington state and Nevada, as well as Mexico and British Columbia, as authorities escalated their manhunt for the suspect, 40-year-old James Lee DiMaggio.
He is accused of killing the children's mother, whose body was found Sunday night in the rubble of DiMaggio's burned-out house. The CNN report on the car could not be immediately confirmed.
