Syrians launch campaign to organize human shields, in campaign called "Over our Bodies."
An air of celebration as Syrian supporters of President Bashar -al Assad gather in Damascus.
With the country under threat from a possible strike from the U.S. they are organizing a campaign to become human shields...in a campaign called "over our bodies"
The campaign will include sites such as Syrian television buildings and other service buildings.
"Protecting the establishments is something that affects us; electric buildings, Syrian television. We are ready to be human shields," Omar Hassino, a Syrian basketball player, said. "We do not own but these bodies to offer to Syria."
"There is no time for hesitation. There is a foreign aggression against this country. Our country is threatened and we have seen the effects of the American aggressions on our neighbors and other countries," Syrian actress Laura Abou Asaad said. "At least to deliver a message to the world that we are a people that refuses to experience the same in its country."
Organizers say they are putting up tents where they aim to stay until the decision of the strike is canceled or until they die.
