Dec 9 (Reuters) - San Diego's disgraced ex-Mayor Bob Filner, who pleaded guilty to charges of false imprisonment and battery involving three women, was sentenced on Monday to three months of home detention and three years of probation, local media reported.

Filner, 71, apologized for his actions at his sentencing hearing, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. He will be barred from seeking or holding public office until he completes his probation, the paper reported. (Reporting by Alex Dobuzinskis; Ediitng by Cynthia Johnston)
