Cairo, Dec 12 (Reuters) - Around 35 police officers were injured when a car blew up near a police base in the city of Ismailia on Thursday, security sources said.

Militant attacks on the police and the army have sharply increased in Egypt since the army ousted elected Islamist president Mohamed Mursi in July. Around 200 members of the security forces have been killed in such attacks, according to an army official.
