KAMPALA, Dec 20 (Reuters) - Uganda's parliament passed a law on Friday that makes some forms of homosexuality punishable by life in prison, a spokeswoman for the legislature said.

First introduced in parliament in 2009, the bill initially proposed the death penalty for homosexual acts in the east African country.

Since amended, it sets jail terms for anyone convicted of homosexuality, including life imprisonment in some cases.
