Egypt army says car bomb used in Nile Delta blast

CAIRO, Dec 24 (Reuters) - Egypt's army said a car bomb was used in the attack on a security compound in the Nile Delta city of Mansoura early on Tuesday which killed 12 and wounded more than a hundred.

The army spokesman described the attack as a "vile terrorist operation ... carried out by a car bomb" in a statement posted on Facebook. (Reporting by Shadia Nasralla; Editing by Alison Williams)
