Three years into Syria’s civil war, the vital contribution that women can make in the pursuit of peace must not be overlooked, a leading campaigner says.

Dr. Rim Turkmani, a Syrian-born academic and founder of the organisation Madani, tells Thomson Reuters Foundation that women leaders who have been pushed aside by violence need to be included in efforts to find a solution to the devastating conflict.
