(Reuters) - A magnitude 6.7 quake struck off Okinawa, Japan, the U.S. Geological Survey said on Sunday, but no tsunami was expected.

The USGS said the quake was centered 89 miles north-northwest of Naha, Okinawa, at a depth of almost 70 miles.

A tsunami was not expected, the National Weather Service's Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said.
