This echoes Uma’s commitment to support WFP in its work through her shows and network.
"Being appointed as WFP Celebrity Partner is a great honour," Uma said. "This association is very close to my heart as I have always believed strongly in giving back to society and sharing with others my blessings from the Almighty."
More than 800 million people go hungry every day. If in my capacity, I can reach out and spread this message to my legions of viewers and fans, I feel this could be my small contribution towards a world with zero hunger," she added.
Uma is a Dubai-based, award-winning TV producer, presenter, entrepreneur and youth icon. She is credited with pioneering the broadcast industry in the Middle East since she launched her iconic lifestyle show ‘High Life Dubai' in 2005 and The UMA Show in 2013.
Uma founded ‘Queen Bee Production', a production house that launched several popular shows broadcast across the Middle East including ‘The Uma Show', ‘High Life Dubai', ‘PROPERTYSCAPE', ‘TOPGUNS', ‘ZEE Connect', ‘TOTT Show' and ‘Love 4 Food'.
Over the last eight years, she has interviewed a wide range of personalities across all fields, including movie stars and political and business leaders. Uma was voted one of the top five most powerful Indian women in the Middle East by Arabian Business in 2010 and among the Top 100 Indian Leaders by Forbes Middle East in 2013.
