The Sanitation Hackathon, which is taking place this weekend in at least 30 cities around the world, has attracted software developers, designers, entrepreneurs and students.
Participants at the different sites have broken into small teams and are to creating mobile applications that would help make sanitation services available to 2.5 billion people who currently lack it.
Steven Sugden, global sanitation manager of Water for People discussed the Sani-Dashboard project being created by one of the teams at Westminster Hub in London:
