ICRW’s TESFA program targets nearly 5,000 child brides between ages 14 and 19. Here are a few facts about them: The average participant has nearly four years of education On average, girls in the program had their first sexual experience at age 13 About 53 percent of the girls are mothers Almost 90 percent of girls gave birth at home or at someone else’s home
