* KABUL - A suicide bomber killed at least six people and wounded 23 more when he detonated explosives at a military hospital in a heavily-guarded area of the Afghan capital Kabul on Saturday, the Defence Ministry said in a statement.
A senior police official told Reuters the bomber struck the hospital cafeteria where medical students were eating lunch. He added the dead were students.
NURISTAN - Five insurgents were killed and one wounded when a homemade bomb they were preparing exploded in eastern Afghanistan on Friday, provincial governor Jamaluddin Badr told Reuters. The blast took place inside a house in Paron, the capital of the volatile Nuristan province. (Compiled by Kabul bureau)
