April 21 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq as of 1730 GMT on Thursday.

* BAGHDAD - Gunmen using silenced weapons seriously wounded a police major when they opened fire on his car in the Amiriya district of western Baghdad, an Interior Ministry source said.

SAMARRA - Iraqi police found the decomposed bodies of six men dumped in a desert area of west Samarra, 100 km (62 miles) north of Baghdad, a police source said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb wounded three civilians when it exploded in central Baghdad, an Interior Ministry source said.

MOSUL - Gunmen on foot equipped with silenced guns shot dead a civilian near his house in western Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - Gunmen in a speeding car wounded three civilians when they shot at a liquor shop in Baghdad's southwestern Jihad district late on Wednesday, an Interior Ministry source said.

MOSUL - Gunmen in a speeding car shot and wounded the Oil Ministry's head of oil products distribution for Nineveh province in eastern Mosul late on Wednesday, police said.
