Following are security developments in Iraq at 1500 GMT on Saturday.

HILLA - At least three prisoners and one guard were killed during a jail break in Hilla, 100 km (60 miles) south of Baghdad. Kadhim Majeed Tuman, the head of the Babil provincial council, said security forces recaptured four prisoners and four were still at large. They were jailed for various crimes.

MUSSAYAB - Two bombs exploded near a petrol station wounding three people, including one policeman, in central Mussayab, about 60 km (40 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

MADAEN - A gunman using a sniper rifle attacked a police checkpoint, killing one policeman in Madaen town, 30 km (20 miles) southeast of Baghdad, police said.
