Sept 3 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq as of 1300 GMT on Saturday.

* Indicates a new or updated item.

* HAJ UMRAN - Iranian soldiers killed a Kurdish shepherd just outside the border town of Haj Umran in northern Iraq, according to Maghdid Ahmed, the town's mayor.

BAGHDAD - Gunmen using silenced weapons killed an Iraqi soldier at a checkpoint in Baghdad's northwestern Hurriya district, an interior ministry source said.

MOSUL - Police found the body of a prisoner who escaped from a temporary jail in the city of Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, leaving 12 of the original 35 escapees still missing, a local police source said. The fugitive had been shot.

BAGHDAD - Gunmen using silenced weapons killed Nasir Saad, a member of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's Dawa party, near his house in the northern Baghdad district of Binoog late on Friday, an interior ministry source said.
