March 1 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Pakistan on Thursday at 1125 GMT.

* indicates new or updated items

* DATTAKHEL - Six mortar shells landed in the Dattakhel area of the North Waziristan tribal region, near the Afghanistan border, wounding six people, four of them children, security officials said.

There was no confirmation of who fired the shells.

PARACHINAR - Pakistan fighter jets bombed five militant hideouts in the Kurram and Orakzai tribal regions, killing 18 militants and wounding 26, security sources said.

There was no independent verification and militants often dispute official accounts.
