Nov 15 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Pakistan on Tuesday at 1115 GMT.

* denotes new or updated development

*SHINAWARI - Pakistani soldiers backed by artillery clashed with Taliban militants in the northwestern Orakzai region on Tuesday, killing 28 militants and wounding 25, government and security officials said, part of an ongoing campaign.

Orakzai is one of seven ethnic Pashtun tribal areas where the Pakistani army has tried to root out militants with offensives against their strongholds in the past years.

There was no independent verification of the casualties and militants often dispute official figures.

MIRANSHAH - A suspected U.S. drone strike killed up to seven militants and wounded three on Tuesday in an attack in the North Waziristan's tribal region along the Afghan border, a known militant hotbed.

Security officials based in the main town of Miranshah said those killed were Arabs, believed to be affiliated with al Qaeda.
