CAIRO, Aug 24 (Reuters) - Muammar Gaddafi and his followers have lost control of 95 percent of Libya and his rule has come to an end, a rebel military spokesman told Al Jazeera television on Wednesday.
"Gaddafi's regime is 95 percent finished, 95 percent of Libya is under rebel control," Colonel Abdallah Abu Afra, a spokesman for the military committee of the rebel National Transitional Council, told the satellite news channel.
"He who governs Libya is he who controls (Tripoli military compound) Bab al-Aziziya and that is the reality of the matter. For us, Gaddafi is over," he said. (Reporting by Dina Zayed; Writing by Tom Pfeiffer)
