BUDAPEST, Oct 8 (Reuters) - There is no risk of a biological or environmental catastrophe in the Danube river as alkalinity levels from a toxic alumina sludge spill have declined, Hungary&${esc.hash}39;s interior minister said on Friday.
Sandor Pinter also told a news conference that Monday&${esc.hash}39;s spill in western Hungary had not affected drinking water so far and government spokeswoman Anna Nagy said there would be no impact on food safety.
