DEBT AUCTION
Romania's finance ministry tenders 400 million lei (${esc.dollar}113.84 million) in four-year treasury-bonds.
ROMANIAN EX-PM ATTEMPTS SUICIDE AS JAILERS ARRIVE
Former Romanian prime minister Adrian Nastase tried to kill himself on Wednesday when police came to take him to start a two-year jail term for corruption, a case touted by Romania as proof that it is getting tough on graft.
ROMANIA COURT DECLARES STATE HYDRO FIRM INSOLVENT
A Romanian court declared state-owned power producer Hidroelectrica insolvent on Wednesday after a drought cut its sales, but its administrator said the company plans to respect its contracts.
CEE MARKETS
Central European currencies mostly clung to gains from the previous session on Wednesday and hopes of Hungarian aid talks kept the forint near six-week highs, although growing expectations of an interest rate cut weakened the crown.
TURKEY'S TRAKYA CAM SAYS TO ACQUIRE ROMANIAN FIRM
Turkish glassmaker Trakya Cam said on Wednesday that it is to acquire 90 percent of Romanian firm Glass Corp in a deal which values the firm at 3.6 million euros (${esc.dollar}4.6 million) but will see Trakya making new investments in the Romanian firm of over 55 million euros.

Prime Minister Victor Ponta nominated Ecaterina Andronescu for education minister and Puiu Hasotti for culture minister.
