Oct 6(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq as of 0730 GMT on Thursday.

YATHRIB - Gunmen in a car killed a member of the Yathrib town council, near Balad, 80 km (50 miles) north of Baghdad, police in the town said.

SAMARRA - Gunmen threw hand grenades at a police check point, wounding four policemen on Wednesday night in Samarra, 100 km (60 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

HILLA - Gunmen opened fire at one of the representatives of Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, wounding him and one of his relatives near his house in western Hilla, 100 km (60 miles) south of Baghdad, late on Wednesday, police said. (Compiled by Baghdad bureau)
