Contract length: 12 months


The role

The role of the Operations Programme Officer is to ensure excellent coordination, information management and program support initially to the Ebola response team in the West and Central Africa (WCA) Regional Office, enabling the leadership team to effectively manage the response Core areas. In addition, he/she could provide support if this is the case to other members of the regional team regarding other responses within the Region.

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably within the NGO sector and/or in an international environment
  • Proven writing and numerical skills and experience in basic financial information systems (e.g. Excel), budget monitoring, editing of proposals and drafting of summary reports and briefing documents.
  • Proven attention for detail and ability to effectively manage a high volume of data and information
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal / written communication skills in order to deal tactfully and sensitively with a wide range of people in a large organisation, very often at a distance.
  • Previous experience of working in a programme management department in the humanitarian sector
  • Good project management skills related to the development of information products.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Computer literate including working knowledge of MS Word, Excel
  • Proven ability to handle/priorities challenging and multi-tasked workload in complex working environment
  • Willingness to travel to Country Offices for support and capacity building purposes
  • Experience working in a regional &/or country offices with preference for experience in WCA
  • French and English speaking
