Exact Job Location: Sanliurfa, Turkey with frequent travel to other locations in Turkey.

Reports To: Assistant Country Director Programmes

Responsible For: Education Project Manager,

Liaises With: Country Management Team (CMT)

 

Job Purpose:

  1. To enhance programme quality by contributing to the development of proposals, programmes and reports to the highest standards and to ensure that Concern’s work is well documented and that proposals submitted are of the highest possible standard.
  2. To provide technical guidance on the design and implementation of Education projects in Turkey and Syria

 

Specific Responsibilities

 

Grants Management

  • Assist programme teams and partners in the production of high quality proposals to donors and reports in line and compatible with the donor formats as needed
  • Assist Communications team on production of high quality visibility and communications pieces on Concern projects implemented in Turkey.
  • Ensure compliance of all programmes with donor visibility requirements
  • Assist in developing programme strategies and the Syria/Turkey Country Strategic Plan in line with How Concern Understands Extreme Poverty.
  • Prepare and update as required, reporting schedules in coordination with ACDP and Programme Managers, to ensure that reporting requirements are met in a timely manner.

 

Education

  • Provide technical support to the design and implementation whilst ensuring quality assurance of the Education programme

 

General:

  • Support emergency responses when required including assessments, planning and reporting
  • Support Concern Turkey /Syria SMT members participation in coordination meetings through collating information in advance
  • Attend Education coordination meetings as required.
  • Contribute to all aspects of the Programme e.g. by applying How Concern Understands Extreme poverty through addressing equality, protection, and risk and vulnerability
  • Collaborate on advocacy work and identify sound, reliable and evidence-based research
  • Ensure compliance with Programme Participant Protection Policy and Accountability standards
  • Contribute to development, review, and revisions of institutional and country programme strategies policy set by HQ and assist SMT with research related to relevant UN and government strategy plans and progress reports, as requested and agreed
  • Any other tasks mutually agreed with the Assistant Country Director Programmes and /or the CD

 

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Education & Qualifications Required:

Essential: Relevant masters level degree in Education and/or Development Management or other relevant discipline.

 

Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Previous      experience with an International NGO in a grants management role
  • Previous experience with an International NGO in implementing Education related projects and/or grants management experience

Desirable:

  • Experience of managing major donor      grants such as ECHO, EU, UN, Irish Aid, OFDA, UNHCR.
  • Experience of education, protection      and psychosocial programming.
  • Experience of working/living in      insecure and sensitive environments.

 

Special Skills, Aptitude or Personality Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Arabic and/or Turkish an      advantage
  • Demonstrated training      and capacity building skills
  • Ability to work on own      initiative
  • Flexible and adaptable      approach to working
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to contribute to a small team environment.
