The International Programmes Team’s Senior Leadership are collectively responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of Oxfam GB’s development and humanitarian programmes across six regions.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Programme Portfolio Oversight and Development, the Programme Portfolio Manager for the West Africa Region (WAF) will be responsible for the following:
- Provide strategic steer on Oxfam GB (OGB)’s partnership and engagement with countries and regions to enable OGB to contribute effectively to the Oxfam Strategic Plan through the 2020 model.
- Represent OGB in relevant governance bodies
- Be OGB’s relationship lead – with countries and region, and within OGB – on specific geographies.
- Coordinate and hold a strategic leadership role for OGB in the development and implementation of a coherent and quality programme portfolio partnership with countries and regions.
- Influence and enable OGB and the Oxfam Confederation to be a better partner to countries and regions.
- Additional ‘key responsibilities’ as required: e.g. Team Lead, global portfolio analysis lead, Southern Affiliates strategic lead, line management of PPIO etc.
What we’re looking for:
We are looking for a senior and credible leader with the following:
- Demonstrated leadership skills within the Oxfam Leadership Competency Framework
- Strong representation, relationship-building, negotiation; and influencing skills
- Senior level program management or advisory experience in large complex projects and programmes at country and regional level (global - desirable)
- Hands-on as well as leadership experience in programme quality, risk management and compliance, with a proven track record in these areas
- In-depth knowledge of a wide range of programme approaches, themes, strategies and cross-cutting issues including demonstrable experience improving effectiveness and impact of multi-sectoral programs
- Substantial and detailed knowledge of existing Oxfam GB international business processes and ability to analyse such processes and recommend solutions (desirable)
- Sound understanding of the Oxfam confederation and 2020 model and OGB’s role within this (desirable)

Hours: 36 per week
Salary: £38,128 - £49,823 depending on experience
