Deadline Sun, 2 Nov 2014
Job type: Contract
Location:
United Kingdom
The role
The post of Senior Bids & Tenders Advisor will be part of a small team of technical specialists within the Programme Funding Department, and will be responsible for leading high value and/or complex global and country funding opportunities (both grants and/or commercial tenders). The Senior Bids & Tenders Advisor will be responsible for leading on all aspects of bid assessment, bid process management, and (when necessary) programme development with strategic funding opportunities. The Senior Bids & Tenders Advisor should possess strong financial skills, and have a strong track record in developing effective, cost-complete and commercially priced proposals (particularly to commercially tendered opportunities). The successful candidate will support others in development of effective organisational financial models, cost recovery and pricing structures, and will also contribute to the design of systems and procedures for competitive tendering that are compatible with existing systems.
The successful candidate will work across different departments and levels within Oxfam and will be capable of not only developing/leading the financial and commercial aspects of the most complex, high value and or strategically significant commercial bids and tenders, but also able to teach others how to do the same.
Based in Oxford, the successful candidate will be expected to work across Oxfam GB, to work across the confederation of OI affiliates, and to work with a range of other stakeholder partnerships.
Some travel may be required outside of the UK equivalent to approximately 4 weeks per annum in order to support country programmes in competitive bidding processes.
