Marie Stopes International is recruiting a Country Director for our Nepal Programme. Based in Katmandu, the Country Director will be MSI's senior representative in the country, working closely with governments, donors and other key stakeholders to promote access to safe, affordable, reliable family planning and reproductive health services.

The programme in Nepal employs c. 240 staff, with 36 clinics, 12 outreach teams and a planned launch of our 'Marie Stopes Ladies' model in 2015. With a turnover of c.£3m and a low cost base, we reached over 200,000 clients in 2013. The programme has recently won USAID funding to strengthen public health services, and there is a 5 year opportunity for our service delivery to be self-sustaining, no longer requiring donor funding.

We are seeking a leader to continue building strong relationships with the Nepalese government and grow the organisation, through staff management and capacity building.

As the Country Director you will have the opportunity to lead the programme, overseeing and navigating this growth through developing new business opportunities; overseeing financial, administrative and logistical resources; ensuring adherence to MSI standards; and assuring quality operations in line with annual and long-term strategic goals and objectives, keeping the client at the heart of everything we do.

About You

We see you as having experience as a Country Director, Chief of Party or similar, ideally with experience in public health. Crucially, you will have a passion for our mission and the work that we do, with a commercial outlook.

In addition you will be a hands-on manager who is drawn by the challenge of both programme expansion and building long-term relationships with key stakeholders.

You will have proven general management experience in operationally demanding and challenging environments, including labour relations, as well as experience designing and delivering strategic and annual business plans and income generation through donor funding, and/or commercial activities.

As the leader of a social business you will have financial and reporting management experience, this includes managing and improving the bottom line and the ability to generate, track and analyse management information and client data to inform management decision-making. Experience managing Board's or senior stakeholders would also be beneficial.

Post the April 2015 earthquake our service delivery has continued. Like many parts of the world, Nepal is subject to earthquakes and candidates will need to be aware of this. MSI have extensive risk assessment processes, with the country remaining a family friendly posting.

The successful candidate will be pro-choice.

Closing date: 6/9/15 midnight UK time, with Skype interviews planned mid-September
