We`re looking for a flexible, hardworking and organised individual to join us as Project Officer – Health Cluster Support. In this key organisational role you`ll assist in the deployment of interagency rapid response teams and deliver effective administrative support to a Global Health Cluster consortium programme.

Working in more than 120 countries, we do whatever it takes to create breakthroughs in the way the world treats children. Our UK and Global Programmes department delivers humanitarian and development programmes, builds partnerships with institutional donors – including governments, multi-laterals and trusts – and drives lasting change. Together, we save children’s lives, fight for their rights and help them fulfil their potential.

As Project Officer, you will assist with the day-to-day running of the Humanitarian Health Cluster Support Project, reporting to the Programme Manager and directly supporting humanitarian response personnel in their developments. You`ll benefit from a supportive working environment in a UK-based role. You will also:

  • Ensure records of developments and activities are kept up to date
  • Assist with the development of donor reports, take minutes at meetings, maintain records of communication with consortium partners, and support partners in their admin and HR processes
  • Manage budget tracking, invoicing and expenditure, organising, attending and taking action on monthly finance meetings
  • Support the development of a communications strategy for the project, setting up internal communications functions and mechanisms
  • Help ensure that enquiries are professionally handled and that they reach the right team member / department.

You will be a confident, ambitious, and highly professional individual with the drive to support and suggest improvements in humanitarian co-ordination. You will see this as an exciting opportunity to further your career in a role that requires excellent communication skills, and that will see you work with multiple humanitarian agencies and WHO, as part of the Global Health Cluster. You will additionally have:

  • Professional experience of working for an INGO
  • Evidence of actively implementing your ideas, and of using soft skills to improve working relationships
  • An understanding of the current climate of humanitarian aid, and a commitment to this type of work
  • Project co-ordination and management skills, experience of delivering communications outputs
  • Experience of Human Resources management, and in organising events
  • Excellent problem-solving, administrative, financial and interpersonal skills.

At Save the Children our mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. If you share our mission, are passionate about making it happen and strongly believe you can contribute then join us and we`ll give you every opportunity to succeed. We look forward to hearing from you.
