Role and Responsibilities
Create, develop and maintain Medair’s digital communication, fundraising and recruitment platforms with the objective of bringing traffic to Medair’s website, to encourage supporters to learn more about Medair’s activities, donate and work. Coordinate with various internal or external stakeholders in order to propose a coherent, dynamic, interactive, engaging and frequently updated portal. Collaborate in delivering email marketing activities in addition to: campaign planning, creative design and data requests, campaign quality control, execution and monitoring. Implement innovative ways and strategies to reach and engage targeted audiences.

Medair Headquarters (HQ) provides operational guidance for country programmes and activities, along with both technical and compassionate support for our relief workers. Within our headquarters, we are also responsible for promoting the work of Medair to the world, to raise and manage the funds needed to run our life-saving and sustaining programmes. Our headquarters teams are also responsible for recruiting international and HQ staff, and like our field teams, we are committed to serve the world’s most vulnerable with practical and compassionate care.

Key Activity Areas
Web Management and Digital Promotion
-
Review and propose digital strategy to increase Medair’s website effectiveness by focusing on targeted traffic growth and engagement. Propose further strategic developments and clearly articulate to Medair’s management to get buy-in.

Collaborate with Communication & Fundraising (CFR) team and Medair Affiliate Offices to implement digital integrated plans into all marketing and communication campaign initiatives.

Work closely with external agencies to implement digital integrated plans and to ensure frequent updates of online content and reliable web / development support / services.

Plan, manage and monitor different forms of online marketing such as SEO, SEM, Google AdWords, Facebook ads. Seek niche sites and other online marketing opportunities to increase brand awareness, online private fundraising and recruitment.

Ensure content published on Medair’s website is high quality and up-to-date. Work closely with the CFR team to generate ideas for stories, interviews and other online multimedia material. Propose and coordinate content for e-communications and www.medair.org.

Plan and execute email campaigns and oversee their full cycle: creative development, segmentation and data processing, pre-deployment testing, and back-end analysis.

Grow knowledge of key strategic audiences for increased effectiveness of Medair’s digital communications. Focus on audience satisfaction by implementing and running customer feedback mechanism.

Grow, cultivate and engage supporters through a targeted, automated and well planned email marketing strategy, including e-fulfilment.

Provide content analysis of online activities and email campaigns and recommendations for enhancing their effectiveness.
Other Activities

Ensure all content produced for Medair complies with brand and tone of voice guidelines.

Stay aware of countries political issues and publish only information and stories which have been discussed and approved according to guidelines and Line Manager.

Update budget for all related tasks and track ROI of online marketing initiatives. Monthly progress reports and analysis of all web related activities.
Qualifications

Graduate degree in Communication or Marketing or equivalent job experience

e-marketing speciality/focus desirable
Languages

Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written)

Working knowledge of French and / or German and / or Dutch (spoken and written) desirable
Experience / Competencies

Minimum 2 years professional experience in a Digital Marketing or Communication position

Experience in using and managing Content Management Systems (CMS)

Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)

Strong knowledge of different forms of online marketing such as SEO, Google AdWords and Google Analytics, Banner placement, email list rental, emailing campaigns, etc. desirable
