Fixed Term until June 2016

The total salary package for this position is £32,808 - £35,544 per annum (circa $46,925 - $50,839 USD) including basic salary, hardship allowance and cost of living allowance.

About the DRC Programme

MAG has been working in DRC since 2004 and currently has a team of 9 expatriate staff and 50 national staff working in several provinces of DRC. MAG conducts a range of technical clearance activities, aimed at decreasing the risks posed by mines and unexploded ordnance, which were left scattered throughout the country during the war. As well as conducting technical clearance work, MAG delivers risk education to local communities and also works with national authorities, to improve the storage of weapons and destroy surplus stocks. 

Reporting to the Country Director, the Programme Officer will have responsibilities for proposal development, report writing, grant management and assist the Country Director in ensuring the programme meets its contractual requirements. You will be based in Kinshasa and travel to operational sites throughout DRC as required.

About you

The successful candidate will need experience working overseas in international aid or development, ideally in a conflict / post conflict environment, and be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimum supervision. The ability to produce written material of the highest quality is essential. Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience writing reports and proposals for a wide range of institutional donors and have both French and English language skills.
