We provide highly subsidised services and our fully equipped clinical outreach teams provide services to our clients in geographically and culturally diverse areas. Marie Stopes PNG is currently operating in seven provinces, from which it reaches almost half of the country.
Marie Stopes International is one of the largest international family planning organisations in the world. Millions of the world's poorest and most vulnerable women trust Marie Stopes International to provide them with quality family planning and reproductive healthcare. We are in 37 countries, with 9,000 team members, 3,190 social franchises, 52,000 outreach locations and 600+ clinics.
Marie Stopes PNG is now in search of a Finance and Operations Director to start in early 2015.
About the role
Based in Port Moresby, Finance and Operations Director is part of the Executive Management Team and provides strategic financial and operational management and leadership to MSPNG, ensuring appropriate systems, procedures and controls are in place to support the continued growth of the country programme. S/he provides leadership to the MSPNG finance and operations departments and advises the Country Director on financial and business strategy. Functions overseen by the Finance and Operations Director include financial controls, financial reporting, human resource management, office administration, procurement, stock and inventory control, fleet management, security, and information technology to ensure that MSPNG is able to achieve its goals and objectives.
The Finance and Operations Director is a key position responsible for its input to the overall strategy and support the expanding functions of country programme. You will lead professional managers to deliver the required support and meet statutory obligations of the organization. You will lead and deliver financial reports, projects reports, statutory audit, project audits and statutory returns as required by GoPNG.
You will support HR and ICT function in extending its services to the organization and strengthening the functions at organizational level. You will lead Operations team to ensure that organization is able to deliver quality services smoothly and on timely basis.
About You
Working as a Finance and Operations Director at Marie Stopes PNG, you will have a passion for our mission and the work that we do. You will be qualified professional accountant with ten years of experience in financial management and reporting where at least five years' experience is at managerial level. You should have managed multiple teams and possess strong organizational, logistical and data manipulation experience. You will have strong and proven experience of general management in operationally demanding and challenging environments.
