Contract length: 3 years


The role
The post holder will be responsible for overall quality of the TVET activities in the EOVG programme. S/he will be expected to work closely with the target communities; the consortium project team, area offices and respective operational Woreda and Kebele level stakeholders. S/he will be responsible and accountable for the timely implementation of all EOVG activities as per the approved project document; government, donor requirements and Save the Children standards.


Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in a leadership/advisory position responsible for developing livelihood interventions and the technical aspects related markets strengthening, access to finance, livelihoods assets creation, and skills/employment creation.
  • Experience working successfully with government agencies and private organisations engaged in promoting improved livelihoods for households and the provision of social protection services.
  • Experience working with employers' organizations, trade unions or other civil society organizations.
  • Strong written and spoken English skills.
  • Experience working closely with government ministries/departments especially in the Somali Region of Ethiopia.
  • Experience with large DFID funded/or other donor projects and programs.
  • Experience in livelihood programming in complex and demanding workload.
  • Substantial experience in coordinating, mobilising community, planning, implementation, supervision, monitoring and reporting.
  • Excellent report writing and English proficiency skills.
  • Experience and knowledge of pastoral context preferably Somali region.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work in rural areas where the project is implemented, within approved security frameworks.

Desirable

  • Practical experience in DFID funded programmes specifically in Somali Region.
  • Good advocacy, strong interpersonal skills, communication, presentation and facilitation skills and an ability to train and mentor staff.
  • Work experience in pastoral areas and knowledge of Somali language is advantageous

Work experience in diverse international NGOs at an Advisory role is an asset.
