CARE is seeking a Country Coordinator - Early Recovery and Resilience (CC-ERR ) who will be responsible for oversight of CARE’s portfolio of programmes which help conflict and disaster affected people to prepare for disaster, recover quickly after disaster and build resilience to withstand future shocks. This involves efforts to reduce conflict and promote peace. Promoting individual and community capacity to engage in good local governance, and influence formal good governance is a critical component.

The main responsibilities includes:

  • Leading and contributing to the development of programme strategy
  • Provision of technical support and expertise in the areas of program design, implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation
  • Oversee CARE’s commitment to quality assurance and impact
  • Grant and budget management
  • Providing training and other forms of capacity strengthening of colleagues and partners
  • Management of team members
  • Represent CIS to key stakeholders, including Govt, NGO partners and community
  • Ensuring alignment of CO program to the CI global strategy and at the same time cognizant to UN operation guidelines in Sudan.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT & MANAGEMENT
  • MONITORING AND REPORTING
  • STAFF MANAGEMENT
  • BUDGET, FINANCE AND LOGISTICS
  • EXTERNAL RELATIONS AND PARTNERSHIPS
  • Play active role in upholding Safety and Security Management Plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Primary Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years’ experience of program management experience with a INGO
  • 3 years’ experience in development/ early recovery/ resilience programming in conflict or post conflict environment.
  • Experience with humanitarian work in a stressful environment- complex emergency
  • Experience of fundraising with major donors, and managing good donor relations
  • Experience supporting national partners
  • Program Management
  • Technical competence in at least two of: livelihood programming, micro credit, agriculture, good governance, peacebuilding etc
  • Strong finance and grant management skills
  • Excellent Program development and review skills
  • Excellent skills working with INGOs, NNGO and CBOs in partnership
  • Demonstrated experience in program design (including proposal and budget development), implementation and evaluation
  • Knowledge of donor practices, the program proposal process, and humanitarian and development program solicitations and applications
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in emergency related activities
  • Ability and interest to coach and develop staff
  • Experience with performance management
  • Experience with the management of a diverse workforce
  • Strong representation and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated use of positive coping strategies in stressful environments
  • Demonstrated cross cultural communication skills
  • Excellent budget management skills and experience
