Manage a portfolio of key supporters and potential supporters (individuals, foundations, companies) to sustainably generate significant income. Initiate and develop new key fundraising relationships. Plan and implement fundraising and development initiatives (products, events, etc.) to engage and build profitable relationship with key supporters and potential supporters. Provide support to the CEO and other senior staff in developing their key private relationships and networks in the French-speaking region of Switzerland (Romandie).

Key Activity Areas

Management & Development of Existing Key Fundraising Relationships

  • Build positive and sustainable face-to-face relationship with existing key supporters.
  • Review and develop strategy and plans to optimally steward key relationships in Romandie.
  • Present Medair, programmes, projects, products and other funding opportunities including legacies.
  • Develop fundraising products, events and visits to engage key supporters and potential key supporters.
  • In collaboration with programmes and finance staff, compile compelling, bespoke project summaries, presentations, proposals and reports based on field information.

Development of New Key Fundraising Relationships

  • Build positive and sustainable face-to-face relationship with potential key supporters.
  • Research new potential key relationships, including working with existing key supporters to initiate and develop new key relationships in their networks.
  • Attend relevant events for networking purposes and get in contact with prospects.
  • Introduce Medair and our mission to targeted new individuals and organisations and attract new support.
  • In collaboration with the International Relationships Manager, develop a strategy to approach additional companies in Romandie / Switzerland, leading to longer-term partnerships.

Support Activities

  • Provide the International Relationships Manager, CEO and other senior staff with relevant information and opportunities about supporters and potential supporters.
  • In collaboration with Relationships team, organise and attend innovative events to consolidate existing relationships and attract new relationships.
  • Manage all aspects of communications with key relationships in Romandie.
  • Maintain appropriate records of interactions and outcomes, using fundraising CRM and others.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Qualification and / or experience in Professional Fundraising, Marketing, Sales, Account or Wealth Management desirable
  • Qualification and / or experience in Project Management desirable

 

Languages

  • Excellent command of French (spoken and written)
  • Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written)
  • Working knowledge of German desirable

  • Demonstrable success in the area of professional Fundraising / Marketing / Sales
  • Experience in developing high value relationships
  • Experience in the private sector
  • Well-able to lead volunteers and other supporters
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

  • At least one year of professional experience in a relevant field (more experience preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written)
  • Working knowledge of French (spoken and written) for French-speaking roles
  • Competent with MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Motivated by a spirit of service
  • Solid team player
