Our team:

To achieve Oxfam’s vision of a just world without poverty, we campaign to challenge the root causes that keep people in poverty and to achieve a fair and sustainable world. We campaign to change the social norms, economic systems, institutions and policies that keep women and men in poverty, to alleviate the impact of poverty and to reduce the vulnerability of people living in poverty in the absence of wider change to increase their resilience.

We do this by being propositional around alternatives to these norms, systems and institutions, working with others, producing and sharing evidence and knowledge, supporting active citizenship in ensuring people´s voices are heard, and holding the powerful to account. Oxfam uses different evidence-based campaigning and influencing approaches in the UK and across the countries where we operate as One Oxfam.

What we are looking for:

As programme manager you will drive forward the development of our UK Programme and build strong partnerships and alliances to help end poverty and inequality in the UK.

You will have a strong background in developing programmes of work, project management, innovation and working in partnership. You will lead the growth of Oxfam’s work in your region/nation, delivering real change for women and communities locally, regionally, at devolved level and UK-wide. You will play a critical role in the development and delivery of our programme and influencing work on a range of issues including women’s economic empowerment, food security and inequality.

You will also be able to work to high level to competing demands and manage your own workload without close supervision, making decisions and problem-solving on routine, new and complex problems with clarity and leadership. You will have strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to communicate to a variety of audiences on complex issues.

In return, we offer fair pay and competitive benefits package (see our Oxfam’s Promise attachment for more details)
