In response to the current situation in the Philippines, Save the Children is in the process of putting together a team provide emergency response support. As part of this we are looking for a Child Protection Manager to provide expertise and support to our upscale in the area.

ROLE PURPOSE: The role holder will ensure management of Child Protection related projects in the respective field office, where he/she is expected to support on sectoral assessment, project planning, coordination, and support fundraising, recruitment, and procurement.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Education to Bachelors level in Social Work or similar relevant social Science
  • Minimum 4 years of working experience in Child Protection sector, including 2 years in an emergency or fragile state context
  • Previous experience of project management, including supervision of staff and budgeting
  • Experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability
  • Knowledge of established inter-agency standards and guidelines in child protection, such as the Inter-agency Guidelines on Separated, Save the Children (or inter-agency) Child Friendly Spaces Handbook, and the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Settings
  • Demonstrable skills for quality monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience in training and capacity building, particularly of national staff and volunteers
  • Experience of representation in external forums
  • Experience of preparing funding proposals for donors
  • Ability to write analytical but clear and concise assessment and project reports
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Commitment to the aims and principles of Save the Children

Desirable

  • Experience of working in Child Protection in the Philippines

Deployments are expected to last for 6 months.
