Save the Children International, Liberia Country Program seeks a consultant to film the FINAL EVALUATION of the EU-Energy Project.

Context

In August 2011, Medical Emergency Relief International, now part of Save the Children, started the implementation of its ‘EU Energy Project’, a 36 month solar energy programme funded through the EU Energy Facility II and co-funded by the Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOH&SW). The project will officially end on August 24th, 2014.

Consultant Key Responsibilities:

The Film Maker will work alongside the evaluator to integrate participatory processes into the design methodology. They will use film to capture information collected by the evaluation to maximise demonstration of project progress and contribution to change in the eyes of patients, participants and communities. By using elements of completed reports and interview footage it will be possible to give a holistic sense of the work being done and the reality on the ground.

Qualifications and experience

Essential

  • Qualified film maker with experience in community centred filming encompassing evaluation and participatory video.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate information.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to remote areas; Culturally sensitive.
  • Strong communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English.
  • Experience of establishing strong working relationships with colleagues from different cultures.
  • Experience of a flexible approach to managing and prioritising a high workload and multiple tasks in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • An understanding of and commitment to Save the Children’s mission and values.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with International NGOs.
  • Experience in working with project focusing on NGO/government partnerships.
  • Previous work experience in Liberia or similar contexts.
